We are dedicated to serving our global community. We view it as our responsibility to help improve the health and environment of our world.
All change begins locally, and Eastman products regularly deliver value close to home. Safety and security are top priorities, and our products reflect that commitment. For example, when a tornado ravaged the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Eastman delivered safer products for completing the renovation. Our Vanceva® interlayer provided safety and UV protection, while also allowing visible light to pass through the overhead glazing; Saflex® PVB interlayers provided security protection to the glass walls; and LLumar® film added a customized design.
Encouraging open dialogue
“Open to Public Day” is a key program of Responsible Care® Beijing Manifesto, which Eastman signed with the Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM). The events demonstrate our commitment to communities in Asia by opening a dialogue with local residents and students from partner universities that facilitates understanding our company and the industry. In addition, guided site tours help participants learn more about our advanced technologies and equipment, all of which help protect the environment.
United Way initiatives in LAR
Eastman strives to promote educational efforts in communities where we operate globally – often collaborating with United Way international initiatives to optimize the impact. In our Latin America region, Eastman partnered with United Way of Miami-Dade to implement programs that enhance learning for children in the areas of math, science and the environment. One such program, called Nacer Aprendiendo (Born Learning), uses teacher training and innovative curriculums to strengthen education for nearly 800 pre-school children annually who live in underprivileged Mexican communities.
